About 10 days ago, I had to remove my most agressive tiger barb because of a sore; he died about 7 days later. Shortly after removing him, my tank developed a bacterial bloom, and visibility has been very low, maybe 5" max.
Now, the bacterial bloom is almost over, but one of my tiger barbs ahs become VERY agressive. There are a total of 6 tiger barbs in this tank. He is always chasing someone. If the others are grouped together, he dive bombs the group, to keep them split up. He is even chasing my danios which he has never done. Noone seems to be challenging him, just the big bully. As of right now, no one else appears sick, ammonia and nitrite are both fine. pH is around 8.4-6, which I have slowly aclimated the fish to.
Is this the barbs way of establishing a new pecking order since the old top dog died? Or is trouble starting to brew.
I am noticing the danios chasing each other a little more than normal, but they also let up after a few seconds.
