A tang in a nano?

If i really thought this was a trolling question i would si mply delete it but im willing to go with the flow and answer this as best i can.
When a tang reaches full size it probably wont even fit in a nano! I kept an emperor tang in 100 gallons last year as people recomended that these are minimum volumes for tangs. However, even though it did appear happy in the system, i could easily see that within 2 flicks of its fins it reached the other side of the tank and this simply didnt make me feel good about its perminant home
So of course, when i had the chance of the 220 gallon system i jumped at the chance. Now i have several tangs in the same tank and if you were to divide this up among them perhaps it would look on paper that they have less space than a single tang in a small tank but it simly doenst work like that. They still have the swimming room and can flex their fins so to speak. The behaviour of these fish change significantly as the tank size grows too. I have seen my violently aggressive Emperor tang that attacked any newcomer in a 100 gallon system now completely ignore the new Powder blue that was added 2 weeks ago and simply continue grazing right next to th ebag as i released the new fish.
We must try and consider the fishes behaviour and needs before we put it on display for our friends and family. A tang is a gorgeous fish but its behavoiur and needs simply wont fit 24 gallons. If this is the size of thank you have then it sets its own challenges than keeping tangs... In each size category of fish have species with higher challenge ratings...
For small fish you could say that chromis are easy fish to keep, mandarins are not so easy, some anthias as very hard indeed.
Larger fish... Yellow tangs are probably very easy yet achilles tangs are considered expert only.
So in essence, if you are looking for a rewarding tank that not only looks great but offers you a challenge as well then why not look to the fish that fit your size and meet the challenge that way.
Sorry, i now see im waffling and probably branching off the subject..
So in essence can you keep a tang in 24 gallons?
Err no
