Glad to hear it's doing well . Sometimes the heavy feeding hands-off approach works well. I just wish there were more of a formula as to when to choose that vs use meds

i was talking to the gaffer at my local store and he was telling me that EVERY tank will have ich floating around but it only becomes a issue when the fish are stressed

sw ich is actually a parasite that needs a host to grow/reproduce. Not every tank has it. It only has it if the parasite is introduced. That's part of why QT is so important.

You forgot the fact that quarantine tanks also have a host.

I dont think its proven if ich is always around in tanks scientifically. It still is a heavily debated topic.

IMO, there always is ich, if it really were that easy to kill ALL of them, then why is it such a problem? Im sure a few parasites survive to make it to the main tank, and still do their job there, but if the fish are healthy, it wont be able to become a visible problem. Just because you cant see it doesnt mean they dont have it.
