Hi all

Can anyone recommend some tall low light plants?

2x 18w / 32.5 US Gallons - 1.1 WPG

But I believe the balast is under-rated as its a basic Juwel light unit - is that correct??
I am sure I have heard they use 15w ballasts in their standard units - if thats the case then my setup on this tank would be:

2x 15w ballasts so 30/32.5 = 0.92 WPG

Really need something tall to fill a 'gap' at the back.
Can anyone suggest something?
All the low lighters I can think of are small suck as Java Fern, Java Moss, Anubias Nana - thats about all I can think of... but I am still new to planted so any help appreciated!

cheers all

Something similar in looks to Limnophila Sessiliflora would be ideal - but hey beggars cant be choosers!

I don't know what that plant looks like, but water sprite, elodia, and bulbs do very well for me in low light. :good:

Most of the Hygrophila species are happy with low light and some grow tall, I've got some Hygrophila difformis and Hygrophila polysperma in my 0.95 WPG tank, both are growing very well.

For other ideas take a look at http://www.tropica.com and used advanced search to look for low light plants for tall tanks.

Crypt spiralis is a nice tall low light plant. You might also want to check out some of the aponogeton species.
