Taking Off Black Rim

I know people like the rimless tanks ans I just got a 2.5g for a nano but cany figure how to get that black support rim off.

Well, rimless tanks are usually built without a rim. I would venture to guess a tank built with a black rim on top needs it to support the water.

A photo would help Although its probably just siliconed on so a razor blade should take it off quite easily. I wouldn't think a 2.5G tank would need a brace for support, the silicone alone should hold it together.
