Nice SAE, I think. Hmmm, I was just thinking. Bad idea, I know, and at 5am, what comes out of this caffeine-deprived brain might not be worth much. I wonder if we should have a pinned topic with profiles on Algae eaters, what they eat, what size tank they're best for, etc.? I know we could probably look at the profiles, but it would be nice to have one consolidated list. Don't you think?

Yeh def a good idea Llj Ive always avoided SAE's as I dont really know much about them.

SAE's are the good one's lol, but there are lot's of species labelled as them which really aren't them.

i think it would be a good idea, i would add a few lol.

There are basicially 3 kinds
flying fox - pretty peaceful, does eat algae but not that much
SAE flying fox - algae machines (mine)
False Flying fox - POS (most common in U.S.)

y bad idea u say? its a must for planted tank hehe was referred to me by a guy who owns some pretty massive planted tanks and said they by far the best algae eaters he has owned for thread and hair algae

Hmmm, people seem to like the idea. Ok, perhaps I won't give up thinking quite yet. Maybe I'll start a new thread and get some more opinions.
