I Did not go to Clovers Today,

So After going to visit the Little Brother in Northampton, I Popped into the LFS in Cov on the Way Home.

After Looking at the Tanks for an Hour On which fish to Get.

I always Look at the Angels as I like them, but have never been Lucky in Keeping them.

Well I spotted a Tailess Angel. Swimming about without any trouble with an Elongated Dorsal Fin.

The LFS Did not want to sell it to me once I POinted it Out, they wanted to keep it for themselves, but I held My Ground untill they gave him to Me.

Now the Question is this:

Are these a Common Mutation In Angels or is it a Freak.

The Tail HAS NOT been Cut off of Mutilated. I have had a Very Good look and it just never grew a Tail.
The Dorsal Fin and Ventral Fin Taper off to a Point.

I will Post Pix in the Evening as its very bright today and theres alot of Glare from the tank glass.

The Store had a hard time Catching him - He kept out swimming the net and jumped out a few times, Very Feisty.

The Only possible problem I have Noticed is that I saw my Yoyo Loach Nibbling His Dorsal Fin.

It isn't a common deformity, but missing fins sometimes happen. Good chance it's prefectly healthy otherwise if it made it this far. Someone should have caught that before it made it to the store.

Here's a link to some of the more common ones; http://theangelfishsociety.org/standards6.htm

There is lots of inbreeding involved with koi angels, more so than most any other angel. This produces deformities.

Looks healthy otherwise, enjoy your new fish!

Very strange... I've seen discus and bloodparrots with missing tails, but never an angel! Neat find :D
