My male silver lyre tailed molly is looking a bit poorly...

...the most obvious problem, is the way he swims... He kind of waddles through the water, and lkooks to be havinga little difficulty in keeping his tail up, and as soon as he stops, his back end starts to sink - resulting in him (if he doesn't do anything about it) pointing straight upwards. the other issue, is that all round his mouth looks unusally pink. Other than that, he seems ok, and keeps up well enouigh with the 2 females - I'm also pretty sure he's set atleast one of them up to be a mother...

I'm thinking maybe a swim bladder problem? What can I do about it?

my phantem tetra started doing that for a while and died shortly after, cant say what causes it though. sorry

I would isolate him, the pink around the mouth dosn't sound to good either it's bacterial and could be septicemia.

Yeah sorry, i think he is a gonner dont know what it is but when my platies/mollies get it the die soon after. sorry,
:rip: :byebye:

If you can issolate you can try a bacterial med, but once bacterial infections mount up the odds are against you, sorry.
Before the pink marks were noticable on the fish, did it have a white fluffy mouth.
“Mouth Fungus” is that the white fuzzies or patches are followed within a day or two by redness, ulceration and necrosis, which means that the mouth quickly turns into a gnarly mess!
