Last night we found out it was ick on my platy. So we bought a bottle of ick treatment at the fish store, and used the amount for my 10 gallon tank.

The next morning the platy with the ick was dead.

fishkies is right. the best time to beat ick is early... you should treat the water because it's probably still in there
