I've just noticed that one of my Boraras brigittae(Mosquito Rasbora)has lost it's tail fins and their seems to be like a bit of cotton or fluff growing where the tail fin should be. The fish seems healthy although it's swimming isn't what it should be. Any ideas ?. I've only had it for two weeks and i'm sure it wasn't like that when i got it. Could it have damaged it by swimming inside the filter as they are tiny fish. All the other fish are fine and the only other tank mates are more Mosquitos, Merah Rasboras (Equally as small) and some corys. PH is 6.8, Ammonia and Nitrite are 0, and Nitrate is 15. Thanks in advance for any advice, Cheers, Alan.

Seen any fin nipping by other fish.
Fish can struggle to keep balance when there tail fin gone. Best to issolate him.
is he getting exhausted trying to stayed balanced.

Did the fish show any of these signs.
White, pink, or red edging to fins.
Cloudy looking fins or transparant fins.
Fins falling apart.
Holes in fins.
Stredded fins.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Haven't seen any fin nipping as all the fish seem to be getting on(Both the Rasbora species shoal together in the wild).Didn't see any problems with the fins prior to the problem, although the tank is well planted and they are tiny fish so it is possible that i could have missed a problem with this individual, all the other fish seem fine. Thanks again, Alan
