hi, i cant seem to be able to find anywhere that sells the length of t8 i want. i must be a kind of daylight around 6500K. its a juwel rio 240. i dont know the exact measurements of the length of tube but the whole tank is 120cm long, so i think the light tubes are about 114 maybe 115cm long. i need some help here! maybe a 1149mm tube? but where can i get them from once i know the correct length.

will the lamp specs ones fit? will it not be too white?

the lamp specs are a minimum order of 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

most places that sell juwel will do them arcadia also do them the plant pro's give a nice bright white

iirc the rio 240/300 takes 1047mm tube. info off the web.........................

"The 1047 mm / 54 Watt High-Lite Tube can be used in a 120 cm light unit. Following aquariums can be fitted with this Tube: Rio® 240, Rio® 300 and Vision® 260."

best bet is go to a electrical wholesalers osram do a 6500k tube in T8 and T5 "Colour 865" aka daylight

Stock up ;). Both bulbs fit.

So does this one here, but it's less white than daylight bulbs. Still great for plants.

That's T5 tubes though, the 38w T8 tubes the old Rio 240's take are a bit less common, think it's a tad unusual tube length at 3.5 foot.

al sorted now, i have found a shop that sells both types so i can order them together and save on postage. cheers. i already have t8's and im going to add 2x54w t5's as i want a planted tank.

ah thats the joy of owning a juwel CHA do all the tubes being german made the juwel tanks are metric iirc juwel tubes ar 1047mm but the arcadia ones are 1050mmm but there enuff flex in the brackets to take them

Iam running a Juwel 300L with t8's whats bright enuff to grow plants. I also upgraded my rio 180 whats even brighter esp with the reflectors added, on my rio 125 i run T8's (juwel day and a arcadia tropical colour) what are good enough for the tank IMO

i will have in total aound 78w of t8, about 108w t5 and maybe 30w t6. if need be as i have a spare t6 and starter. 'so in total about 180w of lighting without the t6.
