T8 Natural Red Lamp - Info Needed

Evening all

I have just bought a "Natural Red T8 36" 30 watt lamp" I have replaced my two white LED strips that I had on the top. The LFS guys said it would be a lot better for my tank.

Will this help plants grow? I have Java Moss, Java Ferns and a few more odd balls.

I was thinking about running a blue LED strip with it.

Any info on what I am getting, I am a complete lighting novice!
