& T5 power comapct would be fine for softies just remember to add reflectors as they do get HOT  HOT  HOT

would it be good to have half (it is a juwel and th hood is in two parts) on the tank open to allow the hot air to escape

Jewel With t'5s

i bought 2 x 55w daul pc so i have a set on each flap! works well but as chac said boy they get hot im buying some new flaps soon and when they arrive i will be building in a couple of fans aswell :)

great lights though! worth the dosh!!

was a very basic setup, a cordless drill and a few cable ties is all i used!!

i took both the flaps off the tank and layed them on the floor then place the T5's where i wanted them on the flaps maked off 4 holes 2 at the fixing end and 2 closer together at the bulb end

took the bulbs off and drilled the 4 holes (on each side) where id marked, then put the flaps back on the tank

then got a fewcabel ties and cabletied the black bulb holder to the flap and then on side of the buld at the other, obviously not to tight as the bulb is fragile but tight enough so it wont move unless i want it too
repeat for the other side then do the same on the other flap!! job done!!

works a treat!! and the extra lighting makes a big difference :D
