My femail just had 10 fry. Today I looked at the tank and I saw this little babie swimming with my finger I was so shappy that morning. When I got home it was swimming with the bigger SwordTails.
When do pregnant swordtails and platies usually have babies? I have 2 platies (a boy and girl) and 3 swordtails (a boy and 2 girls) I know they are pregnant because they're getting fat and they looked pregnant when I got them, the're not really fat but their definantly getting fatter. I don't think the swordtails are going to have babies real soon because they aren't as fat as my mollie I used to have was when she had her babies (they all died). But my platie is getting pretty fat (but still not as fat as my mollie was). I just want to know how long before my swordtails and my platie have their first bunch of babies?
My swordie girls have been birthing about every 33-43 days. Temperature and feedings can play a roll in how long it takes. I believe it goes faster for Mollys, platys and guppies. How big they get and how many fry varies as well. Fiskis has about 25-30 at a time and is smaller and does not get as fat as Doris who popped out 110 in her last batch.
P.S. Flush, my tanks are not very big 112 liters=29.6 US gallons, 54 liters=14.25 US gallons. I am looking to go up to a 150 US gal(600 liters) or bigger later this year.
