Hey,

Christine my oldest fishie died today  Found her at the bottom of the tank this morning!! She'd not been looking good for a couple of days but she seemed a little bit better last night... I guess she wasnt!!

But now my other swordtail looks ill!! Its kinda sitting at the bottom of the tank like Christine did :/ All the other fish are fine, the waters fine.... i dont geddit!!!!! Id had her about 18 months... Is that old for a swordtail?

Any ideas whats going on?!

Jess

Big, fat Christine... :byebye: (nearly 4" btw! Bless her!!)

Hmmm... weird... The water is no different to what it usually is ph 6.5, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate 0.

-_-

she was a nice fish jess, i used to keep a whole collection of swordtails in a 10g, i found that they are particularly sensitive to ammonia and nitrate, but your tests show none..hmm -_- how old is ur sick fish? how old was ur last one? i think swords only ahve a life of like 3-5 years

She was a favourite of mine, she was very cute... But she hadn't been sick in the entire 18 months id had her, she was always really healthy, and ate VERY well!!!

As i said, id had her 18 months so she was probably closer to two years in age...

The other swordtail i bought about a month later so she's probably not a lot younger. Im confused as all the other fish look as healthy as ever except that one swordtail!!!

She's eating though! :)

What a beautiful swordtail, oh i am so sorry Jess, i know how it feels, i lost Coral, my favorite swordtail about the saem time you had Christine, i hated it, because i actually got to see her die :'(

She lost balance and a few minutes after that coral passed away...

I dont hope you dont lose anymore jess, i know how attached you can get to Swordtails, that is why i am fearing for another one of mine called Nemo :( He is one of Corals babies, and ever since his mum died, he has been down, REALLY down

Hey,

Thanks :) Im not usually too bad when my fish die except when its the ones i really liked - usually my bettas! But she was so sweet and such a little pig!lol Bless her...

Zenn - i was thinking that maybe my other swordtail is just feeling a bit down cos Christine died? She'd been fine until yesterday! I didn't know fish got that attached to one another, though they did used to go everywhere together! :)

The smaller one is the one thats now looking sick... She's very pretty too  Excuse the poop... and the dirty shell, thats gone now! :D lol

Aye my damn, swords eat anything, accept fish!.

Well, theres room for one more here :D.

Bloody getting over run with females though!

Ive got 1 male, and 3 females, but 1 female doesn't count as a fish, its got mental problems, from being beaten up to many times.

Awww... Poor swordy! :(

Well, ill get mine well again if i can and if you want her she's yours! need to make room for more guppies! :D
