my male swordtail keeps swimming up and down one side of the tank- all the time. is there something wrong? something i can do? is he upset about something? i'd appreciate any insight. thanks

How long has he been in the tank? Is it well planted? Swordtails like places and plants to hide in,and if he's new he's probably nervous and stressed getting used to the tank. Swords can be high strung when they aren't comfy. Try adding some plants to make him feel more concealed until he feels settled.

he's been in the new tank for about a week. i have some plants in there, i guess i'm just not sure exactly what "well planted" is. should i make a couple of areas pretty dense and still leave some open areas?
