firstly hi to everyone im new to this forum and to the fish keeping hobby.

now for the question...

my female swordtail spends alot of time hiding under my rocks she does come out and she eats and swims but always goes back to the rocks. is this normal?my males have been showing courtship behaviour and i was wondering wether shes pregnant. she is sligthly bigger than my other females.

She is probably being hassled by the males and just wants some piece and quiet. With livebearers it is preferred to have a few females for each male, or better still just one male and a group of females. If you want lots of males then set up a separate tank for the males and keep the sexes separate.
