Swordtail With Bent Spine

Swordtail seems to have developed a bent spine and lies on the bottom in one corner of the tank a lot of the time. At other times it seems fairly mobile and also eats any time food is available. Anyone know if this could be related to a disease which would be transmittable to other fish in the tank.
