My largest male swordtail and my largest male platy have become locked in a constant battle.
It seems to be over the attention over a pregnant platy.
Is there anything I can do ?? as its very intense.
This behaviour has only started today - does it mean the platy is getting ready to drop maybe ??
The pregnent platy is getting alot of male attention - she is one of two pregnent platys - the other is recieving little atention.
Words of wisdom gratefully recieved

Issolate the male now.
Once female livebearers are ready to drop they can get really aggressive and snappy.

Sorry. Just saw large platy and assumed it was female.
You will have to issolate one.
If they carry on fighting you might have to rehome one of them.

Crazy thing is that 2 male guppis are now also fighting
Both are fin nipping each other
For some reason war has broken out in my tank

I know what it like as i've kept livebearers.
I think its because the females are ready to give birth.

Do you have a issolation tank. If so how many gallons is it.

All you can do is then try issolating the tank with a petition.
Turn tank lights out to see if they settle down.
is there plenty of hiding spaces for the fish to escape too.

Yes loads of places to hide
Will switch the lights off as you suggest and keep my fingers crossed
thanx

Also post in the livebearer section of the forum.
Good Luck.

Have the males calmed down now.
