I have a juvie swordy male. I know he is juvie as when I got him 3 weeks ago his anal fin was just folding up and he didn't have a sword. Now he has the anal fin and a sword about 1/2 an inch long (anf growing bigger each day).

Is he able at this stage to impregnate my females? I am wanting gim to give me some fry SOON

Give him a girlfriend and see what happens. My Spotty kid that was born Oct 31 started growing his tail about a month ago, he's just starting to show interest in the females this week. I think the lyretail males have been giving him lessons. They usually reach sexual maturity at 2-3 months of age although black swordies for some reason can take up to a year to mature.

He has 3 girlfriends....there is one that I suspect MAY be pregnant but it is hard to tell....he surely has been trying

He is a red/marigold/white wag. I want his fry SOOOO bad.....

If he's trying it's just a matter of time. I just noticed that 3 of my juveniles that were born mid December aren't juveniles anymore. They are very pregnant young ladies! I have no clue who they've been sneaking around with either. They haven't had any male companionship for the last 2 weeks and before that they were in the tank with Donovan and Terrel but I never saw either of those little gentlemen showing any interest in them.

About when do they start growing a sword if they are going to be males? I have 10 beauties that were born Jan. 26th. I know they are still young, I was just wondering

Heck Therd if my male was that handsome i would whant to have him get frisky with the ladies to. But Neo hes nice he has a back tail and a red body mabye his fry will look nice. But he is getting interested with the ladies though. Stating to see some activity with him .

My Piney is a very pretty fella... ) I even tried to get him some females of his own kind He wanted all of my Marigolds to which I have a male for them I don't think they even know he exists But I'm getting some pretty babies from my Piney so he can have all the fun he wants
