I have had two male red swordtails in my tank along with some mollies. Both swordtails seemed to be fine and getting along okay. Since the last week, I have been observing that one of the swordtails has been hiding in the plants a lot and been swimming very slowly. I performed a 30% water change thrice in the past week. It occured to me that maybe the other swordtail has started displaying alpha fish tendencies and hence this particular one has been hiding. I introduced a female green swordtail in the tank to divert attention.
Well, it seems that the other (alpha male) seems to be much more interested in the female. However, I don't see much improvement in the hiding fish. It does eat food but mostly keeps to the surface and within the plantation only. Any idea what could be the problem?
