How can you tell if a swordtail is pregnant?

What is a gravid spot?

How long is it before they give birth?

A gravid spot is near the end of the body just before the tail, it'll be a darkish black/grey spot, that is the fry soon to be coming out.
Well atleast it is for female guppies...
Also if she's really fat, it's most likely she's pregnant.

You might not see a gravid spot on a swordtail. Most guppies and some platies display them, but rarely on mollies and swordtails. None of my platies do (dark flanks, all of them) but my white lyretail molly does.
