Hi,
I have had 2 female Orange 'LyreTail Swords' for about a month. They seemed fairly plump however I know they are bigger than Males, > I then added a Male (Orange with black tail) five days ago in attempt to get them to breed.
One of the Females seems fatter than the other, and I was wondering how long it takes for the pregnancy process as I am thinking it may have been pregnant when purchased. (Don't want them getting eaten!)
I Have read that they should not be put in a floating breeding trap, so have created a divider with small holes in it, ready to separate the potential mother from others.
>Should I then put the fry in the floating trap (as a nursery) for a few weeks until they grow?, or will they survive better amongst plants with the divider still in place? or hope they survive with the adults??
Any advice on the best food for baby Swordtails and best water conditions would be much appreciated...
