hi, just over a month ago i bought 2 male swordtails and 4 female, but i noticed 1 of the females anal fin looked almost like a gonopodium. its tail is almost the same as the females but does have a slight spike. would you say this is a male. i would add a picture but cant work out how to and my pics are quite blurred so you proberlly wouldnt see it very well anyway. also if it is should i buy another 3 females i have plenty of room

it's very common for what look's like a female to develop into a male, there not sex changing which is what many people thing but they have way's been a male.

Some males are known as late developers as they can take over a year to fully mature into a adult fish.
