Swordtail Frys

It depends on when the males decide to develop. Some develop very early, most you can see by 3 months, and some develop very late. You may see a small difference in the look of the anal fin and the tail if you look closely though. Slightly more pointy. :)

k thanks, i know that they deveolp all at diffent times but the reason i ask is that my LFS will give me $1.25
for them when i can tell apart. and do you think tell then they can be housed in a 10 gallon with 6 neons and 2 ottos

EDIT- there are 12 frys

What age are you talking about? Though no age really works well. For small fry, I'd worry about the Neons eating them. For adults, it's way too small. For Juvies, it's going to be overstocked. For a small while when they are out of eating range and before they get too big, it could probably work. But you'd definitely have to keep up on the water changes.

there in a breeder net at the moment.

and what else do they eat besides baby brine srimp?

im doing a 25% water change every other day.

They can eat crushed flakes, other small frozen foods, crushed up freeze-dried foods, and veggies. :) It's best to blanch or steam the veggies to soften them up a bit. And if you use peas, they need to be shelled too.
