My one swordtail fry that is left of 20 is growing really slow it has been a little over a motnh and he is only about 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. Is this common? He is in a 125 gallon tank will this help him grow faster?

Yes, you always get one that dosn't seem to grow like the others, what do you feed as a good diet makes them grow fast.

This is the only one left of the 20. I feed it finely crushed flake food. It is in the 125 gallon tank alone.

Try frozen food in bloodworms, brimestrimp, daphnia, also like algae tablet.

Wots the protein content of the food you are feeding it? I usually feed mine the LiquidFry Powder flake now and they grow pretty quick.

Flakes
49% protein
9% fat
2% fiber
6% moisture
1.3% phosphorus

Tubifex Worms (would this work)
50% protein
5% fat
5% fiber
5% moisture
(They are about one cm. cubes. If this would work since it is only one fry should i maybe break it down into smaller pieces?)

Cut it in half then chop a small peice of the end.

i added some to the tank. I am actually suprised that it is still alive since i added it to my 125 gallon tank before i even cycled it which i don't even have a filter for it yet. i just finally added the chemicals that i needed to add and it lived for a week with out anything done to the tap water.

Good luck, hope he starts growing, should call him lucky then.

Both of the parents died from ick and i am hoping that this one lives. I am eventually going to buy some more swordtails. But not until this one grows up so i can breed it.
