Swordtail Fry

I pleasant sight last night in my tank was about 8 or 9 baby swordtails swimming in and around my floating plant.

Didnt even realise my swordtail was pregnant. Thought she was just a big girl. Only had her since middle of december.
How long does it usually take for a pregnant female to give birth?

About 28-31 days is thier time limit. If they made it this far, they should survive, but keep you fingers crossed. I would recommend putting them in another tank. Ohhhhhhh, just to let you know you tank looks way over stocked.

What would be the best procedure for transferring them to another tank. I have a smaller tank set up which i was going to use for breeding so i could put them in there.

Am i safe enough to scoop them with my net or best to try and scoop them into the breeding trap?

ps im on the case for a new 5ft Juwel Rio 400 for my birthday if the good lady will let me
