Swordtail fry, all the while!!!

Now i am actually loving this, getting loads and loads of tiny swordtails, nearly daily now, because my male has gone very randy laterly, and i had to go out and get a few more females for him, to stop him getting it on with female swordtails that are already carring his fry...

But what gets me, is Splash, on of my preggy swordtails, I CANT BELIEVE HOW BIG SHE GETS AFTER FEEDING!!!!

It either she is a pig, or she has a hell of alot of Fry in her, more than hat Coral had, and she gave birth to a good 20 fry, and Coral is 3 inches in size where as Splash in only a good 1.5 inches now... man i fed them last night and there is splash with the biggest stomach on her that i have ever seen, and she is bound to pop anyday now...

Now my question is this, just out of conclusion... i think i know the answer, but do female swordtails while carring, do they eat more in order to fed the growing fry inside of them?

i've never really noticed my swordtails eating more when they r carrying fry. i have just noticed that they eat the same. when it comes close to them giving birth(like a day or 2) she will try and hind and will either eat less or won't eat at all. hope this helps
