my pregnant swordtail jumped out of the container, i caught her dead on the floor this morning when i woke up. sob...sob.....now i only left with 1 male swordtail. Anyway, i have 3 female guppies and one was found dead without any reason. She didn't seem to be sick, but she had just given birth to 20 fry... is this the reason causes her death?? i put the fry in the breeding net (breeding net is in the main tank) ..will it help the fry to grow safely ??? or should i put the fry into a small container??

Sorry about your fish ice :-( . But i do not know why your guppie could have died. But it is good that you have the fry in the breading net in the main tank. So when they get matuer enough it will be as easy to just let them out of the net. It is also good for them in the net because they will grow and be safe in there.

:byebye: Sorry Ice.. Lossing fish is sad but at least you have the fry to live on  Keep them safe in the breeder net and they should grow to be fine fishes :)

my pregnant guppy jumped out of the container  she was without water for 1-4 hours  luckily i found her i thought she was dead :-( but when i put her in the container she was alive  she is now recovering :D !!!!!!!

Thanks SworDtail Keeper :D I just had a Marigold die :byebye: but now I think that one of my females is turning into a male :dunno: hmmm... So much for Piney having all the gals to himself...

Lids that cover the entire tank are a good idea for swords, especially if they are in a trap or breeding net. I have had my girls jump out of the trap several times, even while they were birthing! Sorry for your loss :(

but if you leave the swordfish in the breeding, won't they get streesed out and died? last night i notice that female guppy was acting weird, i reckoned she was ready to drop, so i get her out of the main tank and put her in a breeding box, when i woke up this morning, what i could see was dead fry. (sad) my second batch came with all dead fry. (but there were only 6 of them) i then put the female guppy back to the main tank. But her gravit spot is still dark, but not big in size... is there any possibility of her droppin anytime?

I try to wait till they start to drop then put them in and take them out when they look like they are about finished. The less time in the trap the better.
