Swordtail Being Bullied By His Son!

Hi

I have just move over my last fish from my old tank into my new tank which is 4 ft.

i have two male swordtails.

I left the young swordtail which is the son of the other one to last to put in the new tank, as in the old tank the father was getting bullied by his son.

I thought in the new tank I would not have a problem as I have made it a planted tank, with lots of hiding places.

The father male is extremely scared of the younger male and is hiding all the time. Only just about coming out for food.

Any ideas?

For information - there are about 15 female swordtails in the tank.

I can not use the old tank to separate them.

Please help!

you could buy a large(ish) floating breeder trap and stick the young one in there for 2 or 3 days that might teach him a lesson.

I was worrid this may stress him out.
