Swordtail Attacking Applesnail

I have a large applesnail. Recently my 2 swordtails(m/f) have been picking at him everytime he comes out of his shell. It seems to be a fairly constant thing that has recently started. I had them in the same tank for a while now, but this just started. Any ideas? Water stats are fine. No new additions to the tank.

It is food for them and their is almost nothing you can do to stop them from picking at him. It is only natural for them to do that

Mine always do that when their antennas come out. They only have a couple of seconds to open up their eyes and then they spring back into the shell. It's normal forthem to do that

If they are picking at him, remove him. It's not good for the snail to be picked on, especially if they do damage, and it's not fair to him. You have to be especially careful if the Swordtails should damage his breathing siphon, because then they'll usually die. It's best to remove him.
