Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the great information avalialbe on this forum. I have a problem that showed up two days ago. I have a tank with platies, sowrdtail, mollies and guppies. The tank is 40 Gallon and suddenly first all my guppies (5) dies and now the swordtail and platies have a broken spine, they look strange. I have a salphin mollies who died suddenly today. The ammonia is little bit high, but not very. I wonder what I can do to save the rest of the fishes in the tank (10 fishes left)

Thanks

Meda

Do a large water changes daily to get the ammonia back to 0 as you should not have any ammonia or it will cause stress and death to fish. Until you get your ammonia back to 0 you will have problems. Is this a cycled tank? What is your ph, nitrite and nitrate levels?

Okay, it would greatly help if you awnserd theese quations:

How old is the tank?
How often do you do water changes?
How big is the tank( in gallons or liters):
What kind of fish do you have?
Can you provide a picture of this " broken spine"?
What is your water like?( ammonia, NitrIte, NitrAte, pH).
What kind of test kit are you using?

I would at the moment, suggest doing 25 percent water changes twice daily, until your water gets back to where it should be.
