My two female Sword Tails are being chased and really harrassed by two of the male guppies, the guppies are normally happy at the top of the tank, but for the last couple of days have been following the sword tails everywhere, kind of bumping against them, the swords have taken to hiding in the piece of bogwood I have. Are they trying to mate with them?

yes they are.

male guppies will try to mate with anything - how many female guppies have you got in the tank ?
guppies cannot cross with swords but mine even tried and mate with my minnows when they were in an all male tank until i introduced some females - 3 females per 1 male best bet

I don't have any female's just 3 males, I've recently introduced them to my larger community tank which has two large female sword tails. One of the males is totally disinterested, but the other two won't leave the swords alone, I got all males as I didn't really want to have to deal with offspring! Didn't think they'd go for other species of livebearers, shows what I know then! Will they calm down, or will they just keep at the swords?
