Hey guys and gals, I have a question regarding Swordtails. My Inlaws have a 25gallon tank with the following, 5 neon tetras, 1 anglefish, and 2 mollys and 1 male swordtail, all fish are very healthy looking, including the swordtail. All other fish are quite active as well. They are a bit concerned with the swordtail as he mostly just stays at the very top of the tank, he eats fine. I understand from what i read that swordtails are a top level fish. The tank has several live plants. Not aware of the numbers but water test proved all levels to be at normal, temp is 77degrees. Does he maybe need a female to keep him company? I know that they can be a bit aggressive towards other males? any help would be great!! thanks in advance all

You're right, swordtails are top level dwellers. Males might well fight; you could introduce two females; the mollies and the angel would make short work of any fry, so you wouldn't have to worry too much about overcrowding. Is the tank tall enough for the angel though? It does need to be at least 18".

Sure is, Its a Bow front tank just over 2 feet tall, Angel is loving it in their. Thanks for the help!

Ah, that's put my mind at rest then :D Glad to be of help.
