Swollen False Sae.....

One of my four young False SAE's is very swollen - and what i presume is the anus (might not be i really dont know with these guys) is very red.

The swelling is quite pronounced, and from the side view whilst htere is a dark mass further forwards, the swelling area appears to contain a bubble!

Whats happening (please dont let her pop i like her, her face reminds me of a puppy)....

Ive put her away from the ohters as whilst they are still young and not especially nasty to one another, they do bully a little.

There are no other things amiss, no sticky outty scales, no odd behaviour, just this big swollen bubble.

Dropsy to internal parasites, can you say what it looks like when the fish goes to the toilet.
But with the bubble it sounds more like internal parasites.
Is it possible to load a pic up.

Will have a go - have had to put her back with the others as i cant treat the other tank she was in so shes now in the big tank, started treatment with Myxazin.

Um, poo..... not seen her poo at all!

By looking at some previous posts it appears you are in the UK. Myxazin is more for external bacteria, it sounds like an internal protizoan to me. Interpet # 9 is better for internal bacteria, flubenol is another product available in the UK that works on internal parasites & worms. As far as I understand these two can be used together.

Wil try to get hold of some - myxazin is all i had, well it was that or melafix and not finding anything to sway me one way or the other i just grabbed one and used it.

Are both those safe for spiney eels? Theres two in my tank, also lots of MTS id rather not kill..... if at all possible.

Flubenol will eradicate the snails. Start with the #9, if you need to use flubenol you will need to set up a med tank to keep from killing the snails. As far as I know either med is fine with eels, Wilder would know for sure as she's UK based.
