I've just noticed this morning that one of my dalmation mollies has big swollen eyes, none of the other fish have this, I also have other dalmation mollies in the tank too that are unaffected. Any ideas what could've caused it?

That happened to one of my male Mollies. I think he injured his eye by bumping into something while chasing the females. I treated it with Interpet No 9 and his eye is now back to normal. My other fish were fine so I think it is fair to assume he had an injury rather than an illness. I do not know if he is blind in that eye or not as it was very swollen, but he swims about normally. Hope that helps. Don't forget to take any carbon out during treatment, I had never removed the carbon sponge before so I was nervous but it was fine. :)

Cheers, I would also say it's not an illness as none of my other fish have it but it's just a bit odd that both eyes are inflamed, I don't think his vision is that good either, he does seem to be bumping into things a bit. I was wondering if it was another fish, I have an australian blue lobster in there but he's very docile, I know what people say, but this one lives happily with my fish, I have clown loaches and pictus catfish that actually sleep along side or underneath him and at times they go around cleaning him, he does get a bit grumpy if they try to nick his food, it's as if they have an understanding but if anymore fish are added to the tank, he'll go for them, odd.

Are his eyes bigger then normal? When you look at him from the front, do the eyes seem to pop out of his head? Do they look fungusey? Or dull?

It could be pop-eye. :/

That's popeye. Try treating with Tetracycline, or Maracyn 1 and 2. I have used both of those for pop-eye, and they work very well. Also, turn up the temperature a little, and keep the water VERY clean.

Good luck!

"Anti internal bacteria" by interpet is also a very effective med for treating pop eye as pop eye for the majority of cases is internal bacteria in origin although it can also be cause by water quality issues so i would check out your ammonia, nitrates and nitrites and post the stats to us because if somthing is amiss in the water quality, the chances of your fish getting over the pop eye is slim if it is to do with water quality issues in origin.
