Switching To Eco Complete

As you read I am switching my 50/50 gravel-flourite mix in my 29 gallon over to Eco-Complete. I picked up a 20 pound bag of it today which I will be putting in tonight and picking up another bag of it in a week or two as 20 pounds won't really be enough but will do the trick for now. I'm switching over because I have been very underwhelmed at the performance of the flourite/gravel mix.

My question is should I rinse the Eco-Complete? They claim that it's purposely packaged with that little bit of liquid for a reason.....etc etc.

No, you don't need to rinse it.

Nope indeed not. I think it comes pre-primed with bacteria too, so if you wash it under the tap you'll probably kill most of the bacteria.

Thanks a lot. I switched over last night and, man, what a visual differece. Anyone have any luck with amazon swords with this substrate without root tabs?

No but ive got a lotus lily that is going mental in the stuff. Its a great substrate
