I think 1 of my female guppies has swim bladder, she seems to be 'stuck' almost vertically and cant really control it. Ive read to feed her peas...? But what sort of peas? Just normal frozen peas, and raw or cooked?
She also has what looks like fungus on her tail, doing a water change at the moment and am going to treat the tank for fungus and fin rot as the 2 male guppies have torn tails and dont want infection in there. Is there anything else I can do for the female though?
Thanks.

I would use a bacterial med on her, finrot is a secondary infection.
Cook frozen peas for a few minutes in boiling water, let cool down, pop out of shell, and mush into small bits between fingers, then add to the tank.
Once soncdary infections start it harder to cure, so I would definately use a bacterial med.

Swim bladder is an organ fish have to help keep them balanced and swim right. Swim bladder infection is what you are trying to refer to I believe. Pimafix is the medication you are looking for here. For peas, you want to take normal frozen peas from the grocery store, microwave them for 40 seconds or so, rinse them in cool water to cool them down, remove the skin, smoosh it up a bit and feed in bite size chunks.

Try the pea's they should clear it up if it doesn't then definatly go with a antibiotic. Most websites that you read about Swim Bladder will say Maracyn two, or melafix. Personally I would use Maracyn Two, I've used it before, it works fast and is a great product.

Yeh the peas will work. I dident know that till the last minute and thats how my black molly died. You also need to try and determine how she got swim bladder, because it can either be an infection or there could be a fish bullying her and damaging the swim bladder. You know its bad when she looks like shes having a fit. Well thats what happened to my black molly. good look :good:
