My female Penny is swelled with eggs again  This time she has more eggs than she did before I spawned her and I do not even think she got out all the eggs that time  If I put her between 2 males will she maybe drop her eggs because she is really swelled this time. I know it is good for them to be eggy but she is really really eggy and I am scared she might become egg bound

I don't understand how you *know* they are eggs... but, try cooking a pea in the mircowave, shelling it, and feeding her some. She might be constipated... or worse, at the early stages of dropsy

K...She was not this swelled yesterday so I will try the pea...If I can find one in the freezer.

If it turns out she's not constipated I would go ahead and stick her between two males to see if she releases them. I can't imagine it's bad for them or anything though.

I meant I can't imagine being egg bound is bad for them, and I would imagine they would simply release and eat them. Sorry. :)

I hear they can die from it. My grandfathers Betta was eggbound and she died from it! when they are eggbound and happy then there eggs just keep coming and coming and is rips em'. Thats what I hear.

Hmm, I've never heard of that. I guess if it came down to it you could always put her back with a male so she gets them all out, but then you will probably end up with more fry.

Plus I have no breeding tank because mine is occupied by the current fry

Well, best of luck with her, I'm sure she'll release them on her own if she sees two handsome young males beside her. Haha. she'll lose her mind with excitement!

Nope, she'll swim down and much on it. My girls go nuts for peas and gobble them up before they are out of my hand. If she's never had a pea before she may take a little while to try it.
