So weather is going to be bad tomorrow. I’ve got 40KG if sand to add.
Last bag I got was clean. Would I get away with not cleaning it and putting it in dry? With the weather poring down may be a disaster cleaning sand outside

If you pour half into a bucket and leave a hose running into it, the finer particles will wash away over the rim of the bucket. Let it run for a good half an hour and see if it starts to run clear

It can depend on where you live, in a very urban/industrial area with high pollution then possibly.. but unlikely for the amount the bucket might capture during a couple of hours of washing sand i would say

Thanks, that’s my only worry and tomorrow will be the only day unless I do it in the kitchen sink but then I would have sand everywhere

Not gonna lie, I thought this too

Which sand did you did? The limpopo sand? My experience with it was that it was very clean. It did still need a rinse, don't get me wrong, but it didn't need as much rinsing as any other substrate I've ever used. I poured some in a bucket, hosepipe, stirred, poured most of it off, refilled, stirred, poured most of it off. Did that until the water looked reasonably clear, then did the next lot.

Stick a raincoat on and give it a quick manual rinse like that, and I doubt a little bit of rainwater will do any harm unless you live right next to some industrial park.

Depends on the sand. Unipac black limpopo needs very little rinsing. Unipac kivu needs a lot.
Yep, that's why I checked and said that my experience was with the limpopo, I haven't tried the others so can't speak to how much rinsing they might need.

this is the sand guys! Oh no the rain don’t bother me it was more for the rain effecting the sand when rinsing outside haha
