Swan mussels

Just curious...

My Lfs had some swan mussels in stock this week which id never seen before.

I take it these are freshwater mussels but are they for outdoor ponds or for aquariums also?

I was just reading up on them as I have never heard of them. Probably not ideal for a tank from what it says in the link but I could be totally wrong

Like clams they will help keep your water clear by filtering it but like clams if they die it could spell trouble for your tank if you don't catch it right away.

Thats pretty much what id read when looking them up. Just suprised when i saw them in store.

Would certainly bring something different to an aquarium but not worth the risk for me
