suspicious red mark

one of my guppies is pregnant and has been getting more a more plump, today i noticed that she appears to have a red mark (looks internal) just above her anal fin. she's started to go a little on the square when looking head on at her. is this bad or just a sign that labour is coming soon?

What does the red mark look like exactly i.e like a blood vessel or just a blotch or somthing else?

well, it looks like it could be a burst blood vessel but i've never seen one so i dont know.

i just went to check on her again and she's acting pretty scatty, she usually swims over to stare at me but she just hid away. also she's been hangin around near the sand a bit today

Yeah, mine has the same sort of thing your describing. However on my guppy it looks like a red sack of some sort and then the black gravid spot is just behind it. What could this be?

is it just like a red spot sticking out and with white stuff around it.
and has she blown up alot

This happens often with livebearers. Sometimes the gravid spot near the anal fin may become very light and redish, nothing to be scared about, for some reason it changes color once in a while, but no worries, soon enough it will be back to normal.

too late i'm afraid, just got back home and she has died...

there were more marks on her too so i reckon something wasn't happy with her being in there.

now a bit heavy on the male guppy side so will have to get more females asap
