We had a big change round of our tanks the other day.My malawis have moved from a tank in the living room to a tank on the stairs.
When we were moving the fish to another tank, while their rocks were being moved,we couldn't find one of our 3 petricolas. After a long old search,we decided that we now only had 2 petricolas.
The rocks were placed outside my front door, while we did a water change and clean of the "new"malawi tank.We then placed the rocks in the tank and added more water.
Suddenly, out of a rock swam the missing petricola. He had been out of the water for at least two hours.....amazing.He is absolutely fine.I would have felt awful if he hadn't been though. :)
Does anyone else have any survival tales about their fish?

 You looked after the arrowana and it's fine, therre's survival for you.

in my old tank i took my log out and washed it under tap to clean it out. when doing so one of my clown loach fell out onto the bath......... he lived :D

One time while cleaning my tank I removed a large peace of drift wood. A few minutes later I found my small pleco flopping around the floor.

I had a RTBS jump out of a tank before and land in a bucket full of water for the water change.

I am amazed that after 2 hours he was still alive. For the most part I think african cichlids are pretty hard fish to kill, from my experience anyhow. Although that is a long time out of the tank.
