I have 6 assorted femal mollies and 1 male in a 55gal. glass tank. And well i think that they are ALL pregnant now. I also have a pregnant fancy guppie..should i try to save all the babies or should i let my catfish, plecustomus, and goldfish take care of em....will any live that way??? im new to this i just need some advice on how many babies i am gonna have...i dont wanna overload my tank...thanks for your input :dunno:

If you have alot of hiding spots, and some floating plants, then you just let nature take its course. Some will survive and some will be food.

Survival of the fittest!

When i first got my tank i put a dozen goldfish in there to get it cycling and as i got new fish i would take the goldfish out.. I just left one goldfish to see how big i could get him i guess. he seem to be doing just fine getting nice and big and always plenty of energy..

Interesting

u may wanna remove the goldfish, if u leave him he will only pollute ur tank, gold fish can get to b pretty nasty, its best if their kept with their own kind.

It is a very well cirulated tank for one. I also have put i think "phosforus" filters in (the white gravel stuff). so it has not really become and issue. I also clean the tank regularly. Or do you still think with that that he could still pose a problem?

I'd get your goldfish his own tank. If you'd like to see baby fish (like I do :D ) you'll have a better shot with him in his own tank. Plus they do poo alot and the bigger they get,the more poo. lol And of course there is the cold/warm water factor.

i have had my gold fish in 15o gallon tank since i got a year ago and he is doing encredibly so u can have goldfish in a tropical tank

yes gold fish will do well in a warm water tank, they are pretty nasty fish but i mean if ur tank is regularly cleaned and well filtered i guess the pollution is rely no issue.

I think im gonna stay with it and maybe make another tank for my fry. If his pollution starts becoming an issue I will move him somewhere...who knows he might just become a feeder fish like his eleven other buddies did...Survial of the Fittest!!!
