Hi every1, I'm a student now doing a project regarding a fish tank. We are trying to create & manufacture a fish tank that is able to change the water, cleans the glass of the fish tank & feeds the fish every other time after an interval. May i know if you guys are keen in this products & your resons. Most importantly please stated the amount u guys are willing to pay per tank.

PS: this whole tank does all the about mention taskes with only 1 click. That's all, all others are done automatically.

y is it a joke??This project is for real.

hmmm well feeding would be easy enough, you can get automatic feeders, just build one in to the hood somewhere.

cleaning the glass would be ineffective, you really have to put some elbow grease in to do it properly, the machine couldn't see where the algae was so couldn't see where to really scrub at it.

plenty of people set up tanks with auto top off, it would be easy enough to do automatic water changes with a few reservoires of water and you could pump old water out and new water back in, gravel or sand cleaning would be much harder.

however the amount of extra space and equipment needed to do really simple tasks would make it unattractive and cumbersome.

also it would foster neglect, part of daily maintenance is checking the health of the fish etc, if you encourage people to not have to do anything with the tank they will ignore it and disease would be muchmore likely to take hold.

personally i wouldn't want one at any price!

I can't see any serious aquarist wanting such a system.

The associated clutter and inherent lack of flexibility really makes it useless.

Also A bit of the fun is in taking responsibility to feed the fish, and clean the tank.
how would you manage getting around feeding live foods and frozen foods, And foods to certain fish.

I have to agree with the others. If you don't want to feed the fish or take care of them at all, then why have them? Get a fish screensaver. It's cheaper.

A few things, first rule about being a salesmen is use good grammar :) Secondly, like it was already stated, why would you have fish if you aren't going to do any of the work? Glass cleaning takes about two seconds if you just get mag float or whatever they are called...

Why do you need to clean the glass? Just get a plec or otto ro other Algae eater. I've never cleaned the glass and its like new still? Very confused.

I like feeding my fish I like watching them come to me when they see me. If I used an automatic feeder they wouldn't come to see me.

Water Changes are cumbersome but for half an hour of my time each week I'm not gonna pay out for some all singing all dancing gimmick tank.

NO SALE HERE

the only people who may be interested are companies like dentists, doctors etc., who may have tanks in their waiting rooms. you could try them. they also would have the finance to pay for it. only other thing i could think was what if a fish died. you would have to have some life signs sensor that could tell if there was one less in the tank and sound an alarm to alert the humans. hope that seems more freindly. still agree with the others though.

Good grief people... hes wanting input for a school project!
and his English is better than any of my attempts at a foreign language!
Give the kid a break!

If I were you Hero, I'd approch it as parts...

A water changer would be useful - and could easily be put out of the way with just pipes running to the tank.
A feeder again would be easy to locate somewhere tidy, just make sure it is water proof and wont get too hot (flake food sticks togethr if it gets hot)

Filter, gravel and glass cleaning would be a different matter. I'm not sure how any of them would work effectivley and still remain cheap enought for the aquatium trade.

Good luck with the project ;)
