Surprise! A Baby Platy!

I bought a beautiful bright yellow platy yesterday. She looked pregnant but not very far along. Well, she must have been further along than I thought, because today what do I find but a little bitty baby hiding! I moved everything around but couldn't find any others, I guess they got eaten. But what a little treat! He/she is dark, almost blue. His father must have been a blue platy. It's a little early to tell color, but I don't have any blues so this will be cool.

I soo hope he makes it! (I have bad luck with fry, I tend to lose half of them or so)

But its so nice.

Great news! You'll probably find them all over in there for the next few days. Is the second one dark colored as well?

No, this one is pale. Maybe he/she is going to be yellow like his/her mother. I will have to watch for more. It will be tricky, because the barbs may eat them quickly. I will have to keep checking...unfortunately I don't have another breeding trap to put her in, and I am afraid to move the two fry to my fry tank while they are this little. I really don't want to lose them!
