Surley This Is Cruel To Keep Them In This

 That's horrible. Poor fish

they are ok if you've got to do it whilst you water change of course, but my concern with these stick on things, as i had a breeding trap that was like this, is that they slide down beneath the surface, if the betta can't take in air above it, it will die, hence i would never ever use these for betta

I agree that it is horrible but why not complain to Pernn-Plax who make it rather than the seller.
if companies didn't make such products people wouldn't buy them.

EDIT
I notice it is no longer on their website, so perhaps they don't make that particular one anymore,
however they do still make plenty of betta 'chambers' (for want of a better word)

i sent the seller a meaasge saying how comes he sell such horrible thing as he is a Aquatic Retailer

I believe lots of people have already tried to chase up Penn-Plaxx about things like this, me included. They don't bother to reply.

Something like that should only be temporary. But if it slides below the surface...
Besides, from the looks of it, they are trying to sell these things for long term usage.

i don't think they mean as permanent homes...maybe for introducing a breeding pair of sectioning for illness but not for any period of time....and as mel said...if they slip.....urghhh doesn't bear thinking about!

I think those floating traps are best if you need to keep bettas sectioned for a small amount of time only....

I wouldn't put a betta in anything made for a betta. It seems like anything that companies make for a betta is way to small anyway. I've found that a betta is happiest in a peaceful community tank.

God Bless,
Joshua

I think that looks awful and they are plugging it as a home for a betta. I think it's ok as a temporary holding tank, as a 'display' tank at shows, or when doing a 100% water change, maybe during breeding but it is not suitable as a permanent home.

I agree with crashing waves, seems like most things designed for bettas are a ridiculous size, just because technically something will live in a certain size tank because of it's air breathing capabilities doesn't make it right. Surviving and living happily are two very different things, but as usual it's money before welfare with a company like that.

I've bought these before, they've always had one use to me, their fantastic for use in filters to hold media, like bioballs etc. Useless as betta homes though, I had a betta separated into one temporarily when his tank broke and the tetras in the tank chewed his tail every time he rested on the bottom because it would stick out the slots.
