Actually, I checked my LFS today and mantis shrimp are on the price list, but the owner will have to call her supplier to see what species they are. The supplier is based in Florida where Neogonodactylus wennerae, a species I want, are common, so there's hope!

Im sure i watched a documentary which mentioned something about these guys, They can move their Weapon thing so fast it produces a flash of light. Im not absolutly sure but i think it was one of these.

that flash of light is actualy boiling water because some of the species can actualy move their clubs so fast that the water around them boils for less than a second, those species can brake your leg, or split your thumb/finger. Did my homework.

Holy crap! Those are scary looking... if I had one I'm sure I would grow quite fond of it Forget about home security - just throw that shrimp on the person!

With my luck I would end up with the species that could shatter glass, as well as boil water with its club thingers. With those abilities in such a tiny body, I think this creature qualifies as the most dangerous creature on earth, next to humans of course. I never knew such a thing existed until now.

It's scary to know that I have been in the waters of southern Florida
