I just bred my first Betta for the second time and I think I made a big mistake! I added the heater, put the light on and wrapped the bowl in a blanket for insulation... and the blanket was beige.... so when an egg dropped Sailor didn't see the white against the beige and now lots are on the bottom! I was reading about fatherless Betta breeding and a guy mentioned he bred eggs on the bottom and a good percentage (40%-50%) hatched. Is that right?

well sometimes the fathers do eat the eggs so there are people who take them out right after the spawn along with the female, i dont know for sure how many bettas you will get but it sounds liike your doing great so im pretty sure your bound to get some :good:

I don't think it's very possible to have eggs hatching on the ground. Try slipping a piece of black construction paper on all sides (or 3 if you want to see the iside) so he can see the eggs but still be warm.

thats a really good i dea with the construction paper! you should try that.
