I was in a fish store today checking it out , and i noticed most of there cichlids had sunken stomachs. it cought my curiousity because i remeber reading something on here about it and now i can't find that info. if you guys and gals have any info or a link so i can read up on it , it would be greatly appreciated.

I saw thalink too. But I cant find it either. I think it was because of a parasite( internal) and that when it is really bad, that there is no hope.

Hi All,

One of my i.sprengerae had hollow belly and I treated it with an anti-internal bacterial treatment. Please don't make the mistake I did and mix it wih other meds....your fish will suffer (I lost 4). However, that episode has now finished and the original sufferer has fully recovered. Water changes helped me out of the jam I caused, but the med seems to have fixed the problem.

Cheers

Gordon

Just an fyi i don't have the issue i saw it going on in a fish store that thought it was normal or a genetic defect. Needless to say i walked out of there thinking there idiots. The part that ticks me off is these fish are for sale and someone will buy one and infect there tank at home. Or some one will start a new tank and buy those fish and when they die the store will reply with new tank syndrome. It just irritates me that they would do this.
